Can I get an orally transmitted STD if me and my girlfriend are both virgins?
Asked by on
My girlfriend and I have been dating for about 8 months and were both virgins. Neither of us have ever engaged in any kind of sex before (oral, anal, regular etc.) and we are ready to try oral. However I am slightly worried about the chance of STDs. Neither of us have ever had sex nor had the place to get STD’s however I am curious if it is possible or if I should be ok.

Sexually transmitted disease involves a microorganism to be transmitted, and the sex to transmit it.
So if neither of you is infected, there is nothing to transmit.
However, some STD’s can be transmitted orally if it is initially present in one of the partners to transmit.

Virgins are not likely to have stds like chlamydia. But they can have oral herpes which causes cold sores and fever blisters. This is often passed to the mouth during child hood by being innocently kissed. If any of you develops a cold sore or fever blisters then abstain from having oral sex until the break out has completely healed. Oral herpes is very contagious during a break out and it can be passed to the genitals if oral sex is given while you or your partner has a visible break out. Its safer to give and receive oral sex while you don’t have any signs or symptoms of cold sores or fever blisters.
If you don’t have oral herpes and if both of you are being honest about never having oral sex or intercourse with any one else then you shouldn’t be able to get an std from each other. How ever your girl friend could get pregnant if you have intercourse, so she may want to think about going on birth control.

if neither of you have had sex then neither of you have come in contact with an STD. so youre safe. if youre still worried then just get a quick STD test at the doctor or planned parenthood. but again, youre both clean if youre both virgins.
you can only get an STD from someone who has an STD. and they can only get an STD from sex with someone with an STD, and so on.
so yeah. in short, youre safe.

It is only possible if her parents have an std that could have been transmitted to her from birth. Slight possiblility but still one.

You can’t get an STD from someone who hasn’t had sex yet. SEXUALLY transmitted disease

No but there really is no way for you to know if someone is a virgin, so you’re still not safe…

Other than like, HIV – which can be transmitted in birth, you’re good.
